The Case for Giving
Dear Community Members,
In these challenging times, the need for generosity and support has never been greater. As many families face rising costs, economic uncertainty, and reduced access to essential assistance, the programs of the Rescue Mission Alliance become a vital lifeline. Every donation made today helps ensure that someone who is hungry, homeless, or in crisis does not get left behind. I believe deeply that when we give from our hearts and act with empathy, we empower individuals to regain dignity, purpose, and hope.
Recent developments in national social-safety net programs underscore just how at-risk the current support system is. For example, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a critical program in combatting hunger—but it depends on the government’s commitment to processing of benefits. Experts observe that while current payments are technically covered, any delay, interruption or reduction of future benefits could have immediate consequences for millions of households. In such an environment, the Rescue Mission is now more important than ever: they fill the cracks, they respond swiftly, and they provide a stable source of relief when federal systems are at risk of failing to come through.
When you give to the Rescue Mission Alliance, your gift is not simply a donation—it becomes a concrete act of care and community resilience. Your contribution helps fund warm meals, safe shelter, transitional programs, job-training, and compassionate outreach. It means that a person who might otherwise go without food or a safe place to sleep receives the basic support they need to stand back up. It means hope for a new chapter. In a time of tightening resources and heightened uncertainty, you become part of the solution—part of ensuring that the vulnerable are protected, not forgotten.
I invite you to join me in making a meaningful difference today. No matter the size of the gift, each donation helps keep the Rescue Mission’s doors open, the lights on, and the volunteers at work. Please help me help the Rescue Mission transform a moment of need into a story of recovery and renewal. Your generosity signals to someone in despair that someone cares—and that can change everything.
Thank you for believing in hope, community, and the power of giving.

Organized fundraising events for the Skaneateles Library and the Class of 2028. Raised $2,000 for each organization and donated 200 pairs of gloves, hats and scarves to the Syracuse Rescue Mission.

Spearheaded local effort to install four illuminated beacons at pedestrian crosswalks throughout the Village of Skaneateles. Collaborated with the New York State Department of Transportation Safety Evaluation Engineer to include initiative in planned paving project improvements.

A few years ago, an 86 year old was hit and killed trying to cross a street in my town, and unfortunately there have been a lot of close calls over the years. When I was visiting my sister at college, I saw there was a solution in place, so I reached out local and state officials to piggyback on their improvement plans.
